A booking site for a fleet of Land Rover campervans
How a fleet of converted Land Rover campervans got a booking site that runs itself, without listing-site commission or WordPress plugins.

- Connected
- Stripe payments, Stripe Identity, insurance
The problem
Renting out campervans through third-party listing services means paying fees on every booking. Booking plugins add monthly costs and still leave gaps to fill by hand.
Taking a booking safely involves several steps. Take payment, check the renter's ID, arrange insurance and make sure the same van is never booked twice. Doing that manually is slow and easy to get wrong.
What we did
- Step 1
Designed the booking journey
One flow from choosing dates and a vehicle to a confirmed booking, with the renter told what happens next at each step.
- Step 2
Added automatic payments
Payments are taken through Stripe at booking, with no one needing to chase or reconcile them.
- Step 3
Added ID checks with Stripe Identity
Renters verify who they are as part of the booking, so the check is done before anyone turns up for the keys.
- Step 4
Built booking orchestration and insurance
The system holds the calendar for every vehicle, rejects overlapping bookings and handles the insurance step, so each booking is complete when it is confirmed.
The result
Bookings, payments, ID checks and insurance all run automatically, and a van cannot be double-booked.
The business keeps the whole booking value, with no commission to a listing service and no plugin fees.
